Cumbia, salsa, rap, reggaeton, corridos and Mexican music, often in the same song.
Recording our first album at Babel Audio Lab and Transistor Mix Room
The band
DESVELO was born in Mexico City, somewhere between the folk music we grew up with, the cumbia we love to dance to and the new wave of Mexican urban music. Emilio Lezama and Daniel Sandoval came from LEZ; then Franco Trueba joined, and with El Dragón on drums we started writing.
The idea is to bring together rhythms that are all, somehow, Latin American, and to use instruments nobody associates with those genres: classical music next to a cumbia, a rock bridge in a tropical song, drums and synthesizers in a corrido.

The album
Eleven songs. Most celebrate the light, danceable side of Latin America; a couple go somewhere much sadder.
In the studio
We spent more than four months making demos in Sandoval’s mix room. Now we’re recording the album between Babel Audio Lab and Transistor Mix Room.
